情态动词的用法与实义动词的用法有着本质的区别，但是情态动词中有两个单词need和dare也可以做实义动词使用，所以对于这两个单词的考查会先涉及区分是情态动词还是实义动词，然后再确定具体的用法。
need的用法
作情态动词用：
意为“需要”, 通常用于疑问句和否定句中，后接动词原形。
没有人称和数的变化，也没有时态的变化。
否定形式：need not/needn’t
疑问句中直接把need提前
Need I attend the meeting tomorrow?
明天我需要参加会议吗?
He need not hand in the paper this week.
这一周你不必交论文。
It's only eight o'clock. Need you go so early?
才八点。你需要去这么早吗？

needn’t have done sth.意为“过去本没必要做某事，事实上做了”
You needn't have watered the flowers，for it is going to rain．
你本不必浇那些花，因为就要下雨了。
You needn't carry the desks out of the classroom when you clean the classroom.
你打扫教室时不必把桌子搬到教室外。
You needn't have bought such a big TV as it takes too much room.
你本来不必买这么大的电视，它占据的空间太大了（而事实上已经买了）。
作实义动词用：
有人称，数和时态的变化;
意为"需要；必要"，后面可接名词、动名词或动词不定式等作宾语;
I need a dictionary, so I need to go to the bookstore.
我需要一本词典，因此我要去趟书店。
How much do you need to take out of the bank?
你需要（从银行）取多少钱？
3）否定形式：助动词+not + need
He doesn’t needn to finish the work today. (need做实义动词)
他今天不需要做完这份工作。
You needn't tell him about it as I have told him. (need做情态动词)
你不必跟他说那件事，我已经告诉他了。
Adj + as + Subject(主词)+ be，S + V~~~(虽然……)
例句：Rich as our country is， the qualities of our living are by no means satisfactory. {by no means = in no way = on no account一点也不}
虽然我们的国家富有，我们的生活品质绝对令人不满意。
十一、The + ~er + S + V，~~~ the + ~er + S + V ~~~ The + more + Adj + S + V，~~~ the + more + Adj + S + V ~~~(愈……愈……)
例句：The harder you work，the more progress you make.
